The veteran striker was released by Manchester United at the end of last season, and despite being linked with a move to Everton and Stoke has failed to find a new club.
Despite this, Owen is remaining upbeat about his chances of being signed up before the window closes.
“A lot of things happen later on in the window when people are refreshing their squads,” Owen told BBC Radio 5 Live, published in The Guardian.
“I have been in contact with quite a few teams and it’s a case of picking the best which is going to suit me and my family. I’ve said before I’d prefer that to be in the Premier League and that remains the case.
“Different things will form the basis of making the right choice: location, the quality of the team, the manager – everything really,” the attacker revealed.
