Nigeria U-17 World Cup winner Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed that he will be joining Arsenal in the coming days.
However, the Gunners reportedly jumped ahead in the race for Nwakali, as well as his compatriot Samuel Chukwueze, with both hoping to make a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
And just a few days until the end of the January window, Nwakali has confirmed he will be flying to London with his family and representatives for his medical ahead of a dream move to Arsenal.
He told the Nigerian Tribune: “I am going to Arsenal to work and try to be the best I can, and with God anything is possible, to work hard to justify my claim for first team football.”
It was also claimed that the 17-year-old has requested for the shirt number 25, which was previously worn by Nigeria and Gunners legend Nwankwo Kanu.
After Nwakali’s arrival, Chukwueze is expected to follow his compatriot to the Emirates in the coming months.
