New York Red Bulls ace Matt Miazga has confirmed that he has received offers from Chelsea, Stoke City, and Leicester City, according to reports from the Express.
Miazga was one of the stars for the United States in the U20 World Cup, and his impressive performances have been attracting interest from some of the Premier League’s elite.
The centre-back has even been compared to Manchester United legend Jaap Stam, and with the MLS season over a move to Europe may be on the cards.
However, the 20-year-old has revealed that he is not ready to play in the English top flight, and wants more experience in his home country before making a switch.
“I’m aware of all those rumors, but at the moment I don’t want to focus on that,” Miazga said as quoted by FourFourTwo.
“The ultimate goal is to play on the highest level, but right now I’m happy in New York.
“I can still grow here and become a better player. When the time comes – I will be ready for Europe.
“The EPL is a very intriguing proposition. I love that league – it’s very competitive and there’s a lot of passion involved.
“Hopefully one day I will have an opportunity to play there. I believe my skillset fits the way football is played there.”
Chelsea have been known to sign young players and immediately send them out on loan, which could be a tempting proposition for Miazga to gain valuable first-team football in Europe before making the step to feature at Stamford Bridge.
