Mokoena eyes Pompey escape

Captain Aaron Mokoena claims Premier League strugglers Portsmouth are too good to down this season.

The south coast club remain rooted to the foot of the table despite a recent revival which has seen them win two of their last four league games.

Pompey could climb out of the bottom three with victory over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and Mokoena is confident in their ability to retain their top-flight status this season.

"We are too good to go down," declared the former Blackburn midfielder.

"You can see in all the games we have played, besides Arsenal, we had fantastic games and we created chances.

"That luck is starting to show now and hopefully we can really keep this momentum going."
