Mourinho admits he dreams of fourth place

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has stated that his side will have to work hard to qualify for next season’s Champions League and that finishing fourth would be a dream.

The reigning Premier League champions have started the new campaign terribly, losing eight domestic games so far and looking decidedly off the pace.

Ahead of this weekend’s action, the West London outfit sit in 14th place and are 14 points adrift of Manchester United in fourth spot.

The Portuguese trainer has stated that the Premier League has become more competitive than ever and that the West London outfit have a real job on their hands to finish in the top four this term.

“Maybe we have a chance to dream with a great finish and finish fourth. While it is mathematically possibly, we have to try,” BBC Sport quote him as saying.

Despite the Blues being some way off the pace, Mourinho’s men seem capable of marching up the league if they can get their top players firing again.

Chelsea beat Porto 2-0 in the Champions League in midweek and are through to the knockout rounds of the European competition.
