Jose Mourinho has hinted that Chelsea will only spend before the close of the transfer window if Mohamed Salah leaves the club, according to the Daily Star.
Roma, Besiktas and Inter Milan are all interested in signing the 22-year-old, who has struggled to adapt to life in England since his move to Stamford Bridge 12 months ago.
Mourinho is willing to let the Egyptain leave as it will allow him to bring in a new face, with Beskitas having claimed a deal is already completed.
Meanwhile the players agent has suggested he is also in talks with Roma.
He said: “He can’t leave. I have 20 players today.
“Didier Drogba was ill, Cesar Azpilicueta injured. I have a short squad.
“For Salah to leave we need someone to come.
“I don’t think we are going to let Salah go on loan.
“If that happened we would have to spend money to bring someone else in.”
Mourinho was speaking after Chelsea’s 5-0 thrashing of Swansea City put them five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The Blues found themselevs 4-0 up at half time in south Wales, with two goals apiece for Oscar and Diego Costa. Andre Schurrle then completed the rout in the second half.
