Real Madrid will reportedly consider re-hiring Jose Mourinho if Zinedine Zidane leaves the Spanish giants.

The sensational news comes from Don Balon, who claim that the Portuguese coach will be at the top of Real's wishlist if Zidane opts to take over as France head coach.

However, the report adds that Zidane is unlikely to walk away from the club this summer, with Madrid looking to finish their season on a high.

The club currently have a slender one-point lead at the top of La Liga and they are also on course to claim a record 12 European crowns.

Mourinho was in charge of Los Blancos between 2010 and 2013, and in that time guided the club to the league title, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.

It was not smooth sailing for the 54-year-old, though, as he was dogged by rumours that he had lost members of the dressing room, much like in the final few months of his last stint at Chelsea in 2015.

Mourinho is now at the helm at Old Trafford having penned a three-year deal to become Louis van Gaal's replacement last summer.
