Norwegian defender Knut Olav Rindaroy is wanted by Everton, according to a claim from his current club.

Molde director Nordstrand Jacobsen claims the 24-year-old stopper is on his way to Goodison Park for a trial ahead of a potential transfer window move to the Premier League.

"I can confirm that Knut Olav, according to plans, will visit Everton from Tuesday to Thursday," he said.

"We have got signals that they want to fly him over so that he gets to see the club and meet with them. But that doesn't mean than anything is clear yet."

The Toffees could be on the lookout for a new defender after allowing Lucas Neill to join Turkish side Galatasaray last week.

The former free agent Australia international had only been at Goodison Park for five months but Everton are believed to have pocketed £750,000 for his services.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
