Everton manager David Moyes hailed his side's display in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City as their best of the season so far.

Goals from Steven Pienaar and Louis Saha were enough to see off the Citizens at Goodison Park and move the Toffees up into the top half of the Premier League table.

Moyes told his club's official website:"I think it was our best performance of this season, but I think it has been coming.

"We have been playing really well in recent weeks without maybe scoring enough or keeping a clean sheet to win the games.

"Our performances have been improving every week and it is now getting a bit more like where I want us to be.

"We have started to get one or two players back but, more importantly, we have started to get a little bit of confidence."

Meanwhile, Australia international defender Lucas Neill has put the seal on his exit from Goodison Park, joining Turkish club Galatasaray just a matter of months after linking up with the Toffees.

The 31-year-old moves for a fee of around £750,000, signing an 18-month deal with Gala.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
