South Africa’s star striker Katlego Mphela is desperate for a move to Europe, with a number of clubs in England rumoured to be showing an interest.
The 25-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns star scored once in three games as Bafana Bafana failed to make the knockout stage of the World Cup on home soil and now wants a fresh challenge.
He told reporters:“I’m focused now on going overseas. I didn’t want to think about it during the World Cup, but now it becomes my focus.
“I don’t think I want to play Premier Soccer League again, it is time to move on.
“I spoke to my manager yesterday and I understand Birmingham are still interested and want me to come over, while there is some other interest too.
“We’ll just wait for the details to be sorted out as to when I will go over. But I don’t want to wait – I want to go now while I am in form and ready.”
