Napoli manager Rafa Benitez has admitted to admiring Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao and expects two strikers to join the Italian club this summer, as reported by Sky Sports.
Napoli sold star man Edinson Cavani for £50million to PSG last week and so have funds to spend to replace him and improve their squad.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is a big admirer of the Internacional hitman but an indifferent season last time out has delayed the North London making a bid this summer.
Spurs are desperate to sign at least one striker this summer though after missing out on David Villa and Christian Benteke.
Tottenham traditionally wait until right near the end of the transfer window to do their business but they may run out of time on this deal with Benitez and Napoli in pole position.
“Damiao is very good,” Benitez told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Two attackers will arrive: one who is more of a centre-forward and the other a support striker.
“We are looking for players at a fair price, but it is clear that to compete at a certain level we need players with experience and international quality.”
