Napoli considering summer move for Liverpool striker to replace star man

Napoli are interested in signing Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge at the end of the season to replace Gonzalo Higuain, who is expected to depart this summer, according to reports from Per Sempre Napoli.

Sturridge has struggled for much of the past two seasons with constant reoccurring injuries, and his large time absent from the first-team has seen Reds boss Jurgen Klopp criticize his ambition.

However, the England international is starting to edge closer to full fitness after playing in their last few games, even scoring against Manchester United during their 2-0 Europa League victory last Thursday.

But the Naples side are hoping to lure Sturridge to the Italian Serie A next season, with an estimated £20million being prepared by the Partenopei.

Napoli star man Gonzalo Higuain is constantly linked with an exit amid interest from Chelsea, and the Italian club will monitor Sturridge’s fitness this season to see whether he can be an adequate replacement for the Argentine.
