Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has offered fellow countryman Memphis Depay some advice amid his current struggles at Manchester United, according to reports from talkSPORT.
However, the winger has failed to replicate his form in the Eredivisie to the English top flight, and after just one goal in eight Premier League games, Depay has been subsequently dropped to the bench.
The starlet hasalso been blasted by Holland manager Danny Blind as not being a team player and was initially left out of the national squad for the friendly against Wales, but has been brought back in later, prompting Robben to give a few tips during this difficult time.
“Of course I will give him advice,” Robben said.
“We try to help each other as players and the team to make steps.
“He is a talented player in a difficult situation.
“I can give him advice but the player has to cope with it, show strength and the right mentality.
“It is important in your development as a player. It is not always sunshine and you have difficult periods, especially when you are young.
“He has a long way ahead and if he shows the right mentality, the talent is there.
“If he keeps working hard I am sure he can succeed.”
The Netherlands are the shock team to not qualify for Euro 2016, which was the first time in 30 years they’ve failed to do so.
