Neville: Title in United’s hands

Captain Gary Neville has confidently declared that the Premier League title is now in Manchester United's hands.

United went back to the top of the table without breaking into a sweat as Portsmouth left Old Trafford on the wrong end of a 5-0 thrashing on Saturday.

Three own goals and further strikes from Wayne Rooney – his 23rd of the season – and Dimitar Berbatov saw them leapfrog Chelsea at the summit.

Chelsea have a game in hand on the champions but the two teams will meet again in a potential title decider at Old Trafford in April.

"The fact we're now a point clear helps," Neville told MUTV."It's in our hands now, it hasn't been for a while because we've been four points behind but we've got to play Chelsea again and so the title is in our hands.

"We like it to be that way, and we want to be further in front of them before they come here.

"We have to focus on our next game, and make sure we win our home games."
