New Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini hopes to tempt Steven Gerrard to the San Siro this January, according to the Daily Mail.
Gerrard is in the final year of his contract at Anfield, and despite the Reds insisting they will offer him a new contract shortly, he would be free to talk to other clubs as early as January.
The 34-year-old has plenty of options available to him, with MLS club New York Cosmos said to be interested.
But former Manchester City boss Mancini has been a long term admirer of the Liverpool captain, and could try and tempt him to Italy this winter if a new contract is not put on the table by the Reds.
Gerrard has struggled in the heart of the Liverpool midfield this season, with teams often man-marking him in that holding position.
The Reds are on a run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions, and sit 15 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
Their Champions League future also hangs in the balance following three consecutive group game defeats, all of which has seen the pressure rise on manager Brendan Rodgers.
