New Sunderland boss wants forgotten youngster from former club

David Moyes is keen on raiding his old club Manchester United in an attempt to sign Adnan Januzaj.

That’s reported in the Daily Mail, who claim the new Sunderland boss is keen on adding the 21-year-old to his inherited Black Cats squad.

Moyes took charge of the club last week after the FA confirmed Sam Allardyce as the new England manager, and he has already begun working on building a squad to avoid any scrap for safety:

“We need to make sure it isn’t us celebrating staying up. That can’t be the goal. It’s not my goal, that’s for sure.” said Moyes.

The Scot handed Januzaj his professional debut at United, appearing at the Stadium of Light, where he scored twice. But after the young Belgian was given such little game time last year, Moyes is hoping to swoop in.

Januzaj appeared just 3 times for United in the Premier League for a combined total of 17 minutes. And after being sent to Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the season, he has returned to United with just 159 Bundesliga minutes under his belt.
