Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has revealed he is ‘living the dream’ at Newcastle all but ruling out a summer switch elsewhere.
The Toon endured a difficult season, being dragged into a relegation scrap with the Europa League hangover clear to see.
The size and quality of the squad was increased in January and Newcastle pulled away from the relegation zone with a few games to spare.
Taylor was one of a few longer serving players that had to lead the team through the tough months and with three years left on his deal; the Geordie boy is still loving life at his home town club.
Taylor’s defensive partner Fabricio Coloccini’s future is still in doubt after he expressed a desire to go back to south American but Taylor has no such homesick problems.
“Being at Newcastle is the best thing that has ever happened to me,” Taylor told The Chronicle.
“I am still living the dream of every young lad that is in this city.
“I still cannot describe the feeling when you walk over that line in front of 52,000 fans in a stadium like ours.
“It is what I have always wanted to do. I have to keep pinching myself.”
