Newcastle and West Ham face competition for Championship star

Leeds United have received a £5million bid for main man Ross McCormack – from a fellow Championship club – according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

United have already turned down a bid of a similar value from Newcastle this summer and rejected a £4million offer from West Ham back in January.

The 27-year-old notched a whopping 29 goals for Leeds last season and was the top scorer in the Championship despite the Yorkshire club finishing in the bottom half of the table.

Derby Country and Norwich City have both been heavily linked with a move for the Scottish international and the ‘unnamed Championship club’ is expected to be one of those.

New Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is arriving back in England on Sunday from Italy and will make a firm decision on the striker then – however a sideways step may not entice the striker into a move.

McCormack is happy to stay at Elland Road and the United captain will not force through a move despite interest from the Premier League.

Leeds want nearer £7million for their main man and Cellino is expected to reject this latest offer.
