Newcastle centre forward Papiss Cisse is a January transfer target for Galatasaray and could well leave St James’ Park when the transfer window reopens in the new year, The Mirror report.
The African attacker has netted two Premier League goals this season but had failed to rediscover the scintillating form that he displayed immediately after moving to the Tyneside club.
The report suggests that the Super Lig outfit are looking to bolster their offensive options in January and have identified the powerful centre forward as a potential addition.
Cisse is in direct competition with Aleksandar Mitrovic for a starting berth in the Newcastle side, with Steve McClaren giving the Senegal international the nod to start against Crystal Palace last week.
The Serbian is regarded as the long-term incumbent of the striking role at the club, with every chance that Cisse could well be on his way in the new year.
