Newcastle manager Alan Pardew could be sacked if he fails to impress club owner Mike Ashley with the next two matches playing a huge role on his future, Express reports.
The Magpies have failed to pick up a victory in their first three matches, registering a loss against current champions Manchester City on opening day before drawing with both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace in their following encounters.
Now, with the side in 16th place, they travel to Southampton this weekend and then host Hull City the week after, as these two games are going to finally decide whether Pardew will stay or not.
The 53-year-old English manager is currently on his fourth year at St James’ Park with Ashley expecting him to perform after backing him with the signatures of a host of new reinforcements during the summer.
He was given £35million to spend as additions of up to nine players were made, but the overall performance of the squad has yet to reach the owner’s expectations.
