Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew wants to add one key player to his squad before the close of the transfer window tomorrow night.
Pardew has had his hands tied so far this summer with new man Joe Kinnear seemingly in charge of all transfers at St James’ Park much to the dismay of the Toon supporters.
Kinnear has failed to add a permanent signing to Pardew’s squad with Loic Remy the sole addition on loan from QPR.
Pardew has seemingly tried to take control though as it will be his head on the block is the Geordies fail to pick up the points on the pitch and so a key player will be heading to the North East in the next 48 hours if he gets his way.
Yohan Cabaye’s future is also still in doubt though and Pardew also knows that he may lose one of his best players on deadline day once again.
“We would like to bring one key player in who is going to threaten the first team and maybe we have to watch the Cabaye situation, that would be someone we have to replace for sure,” Pardew told Sky Sports
“I think Joe has got the targets in front of him and it is who he gets across the line, it not easy bringing in offensive players as Arsenal and Spurs have proved, it takes a lot of money and we are in the same boat.”
