Newcastle are reportedly the latest Premier League club to covet Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi, with the North East club readying a January raid for the Belgian according to The Mirror.
The gifted centre forward has netted eight Ligue 1 goals this season and has also broken into a star-studded Belgian national side.
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with Batshuayi in recent times, with the young striker creating a solid reputation in the French top flight.
The attacker is rated at £22 million, but the report suggests that Marseille will hold out for a figure closer to the £35 million mark.
The Stade Velodrome outfit sold a host of their top players in the summer, with Newcastle having a track record of working with them to land Florian Thauvin.
After a 3-0 defeat to Leicester yesterday at home, Steve McClaren’s men look set for a season fighting against relegation.
