Newcastle given transfer boost for German striker

Pierre-Michel Lasogga who is on loan at Hamburg from Hertha Berlin is rumoured to want a move to Premier League outfits Newcastle United, according to TalkSPORT.

The German striker had a great season with Hamburg scoring 13 goals in only 20 Bundesliga encounters, as interest for the young striker begins to escalate before the start of the summer window.

A majority of teams, ranging from Germany, Spain, and England are believed to be monitoring the likes of Lasogga, but it is believed that Newcastle are in pole position to acquire his services.

Two other English clubs, Tottenham Hotspur as well as Liverpool have already made enquiries regarding the 22-year-old who has a £8-million price tag.

However, his future will depend on his current team’s fight for relegation and a move could happen if they fail to stay in the Bundesliga next season.

Hamburg current sit 16th place in the league but will now face a play-off to decide their fate after clearing the drop zone by only one point.
