Newcastle are considering a summer move for Aston Villa duo Fabian Delph and Andreas Weimman, according to the Daily Star.
The Toon are eager to sign British based players having signed a flurry of French players during the previous two seasons, and are confident they could land the pair for £15million.
Delph and Weimann have been the standout performers for Villa in what has been a disappointing season under Paul Lambert.
Alan Pardew is in the market for new midfielders, having failed to replace Yohan Cabaye after he was sold to Paris St Germain in January.
It follows the news that Newcastle’s top scorer this season Loic Remy, is wanted by Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton, after impressing during his season long loan spell at St James’ Park.
Remy has already indicated he won’t remain on Tyneside having spent the year on loan from Queens Park Rangers, and Everton are ready to offer £10million for the forward who they see as the ideal replacement for outgoing loan signing Romelu Lukaku.
