Newcastle manager calls for fire sale

Newcastle United temporary manager John Carver says the club need to hold a massive clear out of personnel when the transfer window opens this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Carver currently looks unlikely to earn himself a permanent contract as the club have largely stagnated since the departure of Alan Pardew to Crystal Palace.

So bad have the Newcastle United players been since Christmas that Phil Neville accused the team of having their flip-flops on while working as a pundit for Match of the Day.

Sammy Ameobi, Ryan Taylor and Jonas Gutierrez are all out of contract at the end of the season but they may not be the only players to leave Tyneside if Carver’s comments are to be believed.

The temporary Toon manager fired a warning shot at his under-performing side and said that there are several of them who are not good enough to be a part of this Newcastle team.
