Newcastle United are set to reconsider a move for Queens Park Rangers star Charlie Austin this January, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
But it is the Magpies that seem to be most interested in the England international, with the Tyneside club struggling to score goals so far this season.
The 26-year-old’s contract will expire next summer, meaning that Austin can leave on a free unless he signs a new deal with the Hoops.
However, Newcastle are planning to come in early in the January window in hopes of securing a pre-contract agreement for the ex-Burnley hitman.
Austin, valued at £15million by QPR, had a brilliant debut Premier League campaign last season, scoring 18 goals in 35 league appearances.
