Newcastle United are considering a move for Burnley striker Danny Ings this January, Mirror reports.
The England U21 star has been in good form ever since his return from injury, which has attracted interest from several Premier League sides.
However it is Newcastle that are extremely keen in his signature, and could offer a cut-price deal this January with Ings’ contract expiring at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old will however be able to negotiate pre-contract agreements as early as next month, and the Magpies are set to convince Ings to join their ranks.
Ings was impressive for the Clarets last season, scoring 26 goals which helped Burnley to promotion.
Now the former Bournemouth ace has managed four in just 11 games, and could convince Newcastle boss Alan Pardew of his abilities even more when the Toon Army travel to Turf Moor on Tuesday night.
Pardew stated: “In Ings they have a player who is impressing at the moment.
“We get linked with all sorts of players, I don’t know if he’s been linked with us but we certainly haven’t bid or made an offer for him in a previous window.”
