Newcastle to complete double transfer raid on Premier League this week

According to reports from The Daily Star, Newcastle United are hoping to wrap up transfer deals for Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie and Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle by the end of the week.

News of Gayle heading to Tyneside for a medical emerged yesterday afternoon, after bagging 15 goals in 63 Premier League appearances for the South London club.

The Daily Star claim the Magpies and the Eagles have already agreed a £9million fee for the 25-year-old, who began his career in non-league football before signing for Dagenham and Redbridge in 2012.

And Rafa Benitez’s side have also reportedly met Bournemouth’s £10million valuation of midfielder Matt Ritchie, who finished last season with four goals and six assists in 37 Premier League outings.

Magpies officials will discuss personal terms with the Scotland international today and it’s understood yhe Toon are looking to wrap up deals for both players, by the end of the week.

Winger Andros Townsend, however, looks set to leave the club, with Crystal Palace on the verge of activating his £13million release clause.
