Newcastle to miss out on yet another striker

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is set to face transfer heartache once again as Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette looks set to turn the Toon down, as reported by the Evening Chronicle.

Pardew has already missed out on two strikers and Lacazette looks set to complete the hat trick as his agent confirms he wants Champions League football.

After a tough season last time out, United were keen to make waves in the transfer market this summer but have so far only attracted Siem de Jong from Ajax.

Papiss Cisse is injured and trio Shola Ameobi, Luuk de Jong and Loic Remy have left St James’ Park, making at least one striker a must for Pardew.

Lacazette had looked like he was on his way to the Premier League with a £10million offer heading to Lyon, however the players’ agent has now cast doubt over the deal.

“If Alexandre were to leave, he would leave for a team which plays in the Champions League, or at least one which is very close to it,” agent David Venditelli said.
