Newcastle to reignite interest in Frenchman

QPR forward Loic Remy

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is looking to sign at least two strikers this summer with Queens Park Rangers ace Loic Remy at the top of his list.

Remy was on the verge of joining the North East club in January before QPR came in with a last minute bid that trumped the Toon financially.

The French striker is set to leave Loftus Road after only five months at the club are relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Newcastle travel to West London to face Rangers today in a crucial game to help them avoid the drop.

Pardew is keen on bringing at least two strikers to the club this summer and he has not ruled out the possibility of the club moving for Remy once again.

“In the summer, we’ve got to bring two strikers into this club,” Pardew told Sky Sports.

“I’m not going to dismiss any striker I think has the great quality he has.”

“It’s put extra pressure on us that he (Remy) didn’t arrive, so for that reason, I was disappointed.”
