Newcastle United are believed to be preparing an offer in attempts to lure CSKA Moscow striker and Everton target Seydou Doumbia to St. James’ Park, Express reports.
The 26-year-old, who recently netted against Manchester City in their 2-2 draw is said to be a top target for Alan Pardew as he continues his search for a free-scoring attacker to lead the lines.
Newcastle are having a number of problems in the scoring department despite added a number of new faces to their squad in the summer.
Currently sitting in 18th place, if the Magpies don’t improve soon they could be facing a tough relegation battle towards the end of this season.
The Toffees are also considering a move for Doumbia after new £28million signing Romelu Lukaku is yet to pick up the attacking form he has produced from the previous campaign.
With his contract running out in 2016, Pardew is already preparing an offer that could see the Ivorian striker move to the English Premier League as soon as January.
