Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish believes an agreement over a new contract will be reached in the not too distant future.
McLeish guided the promoted Blues to a ninth-placed finish in the final Premier League table this season, with the success resulting in the former Rangers and Scotland manager linked with moves to other clubs.
He has just 12 months remaining on his existing contract but McLeish is confident of reaching swift agreement to extend his three-year reign at St Andrew's.
"(Vice-chairman) Peter Pannu has been a little bit busy and my guys (advisors) were a little bit busy before," he explained.
"But they have made contact now and I'm hoping that something can get done fairly quickly.
"I don't envisage any hold ups. It doesn't matter, I am still contracted for another season anyway.
"Hopefully we will get things tied up."
