Tottenham Hotspur centre forward Emmanuel Adebayor rejected moves to both Aston Villa and West Ham United due to his massive wage demands, according to reports from the Express.
Adebayor was heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane after seeing himself become a peripheral figure at the club, alerting many interested parties keen on his signature.
However, despite already completing a medical for Aston Villa as well as visiting their training grounds, the Togo international claimed he needed a ‘sign from god’ if he was to make the switch to the Midlands.
West Ham came knocking and Adebayor was close to sealing the move on deadline day, but the 31-year-old was unwilling to let Tottenham cancel his massive £100,000-a-week deal to facilitate the switch.
Adebayor will now remain at Tottenham till at least the January window, in which clubs can once again try to sign the former Arsenal striker.
Last season, Adebayor only made 13 league appearances, scoring two goals.
