West Ham United have dismissed speculation linking them with a new year move to sign former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu from Fiorentina.
The 30-year-old Romania international is currently sidelined by a knee injury and Hammers sporting director Gianluca Nani has rubbished talk of a January deal.
He told Violanews.com:"I would like to talk about serious things. I prefer not to say anything about Mutu. It's all rubbish.
"I'm saddened by all these voices who insist there's a deal. There's little respect and that's not right."
Mutu's agent, Giovanni Becali, had earlier told The Mirror:"I can't rule out the possibility of Mutu leaving in January.
"Mutu just needs to recover (from a knee injury) and play. Then we will see in January if any offers come in."
