Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has ruled out the possibility of striker Grant Holt leaving Carrow Road this summer.
The well-travelled striker has been in and out of the Canaries starting XI this season and has failed to find the form that had praised heaped upon him last year.
City signed Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio in January and have already put a deal together to bring highly rated Sporting Lisbon forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel for the summer as they look to build going into their third consecutive season in the Premier League.
With hefty competition, Holt may need to leave the Canaries to find his top form again but boss Hughton is adamant that the striker will remain at the club.
“All I’ve seen is some press speculation. What we have in Grant is someone who has signed a contract in the summer,” Hughton told Sky Sports.
“He has two years left of his contract. I think he started more games than he did last season so this is somebody who is right in there playing games.
“Anything that is heard or written about is very much speculation. For me it has not been an issue.”
