Sebastien Bassong is fit for Norwich’s home clash against Aston Villa on Saturday but Michael Turner is once again ruled out.
Bassong was looking doubtful to feature after being forced out of the final few minutes of last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Stoke with an ankle problem.
However he has recovered this week and will be back in boss Chris Hughton’s starting XI for the game against former Canaries chief Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa at Carrow Road.
Ryan Bennett will again partner Bassong in the centre of defence because Turner is still absent with an ongoing groin problem which he suffered in the win against Reading a fortnight ago.
On Bassong, Hughton said: “He’s fine, there are no problems. We’re ok, the only one who’s missing again is Michael but apart from that we’re fine.”
Hughton must decide whether to start with Kei Kamara against Villa given that it will be his final appearance before he his loan spell from Sporting Kansas City expires unless the Canaries opt to make his stay a permanent arrangement ahead of Monday’s deadline.
As we previously reported, goalkeeper John Ruddy is also in contention to make his return for Norwich after five months out with a thigh injury and he could come into the XI ahead of Mark Bunn.
