Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has sealed a deal to bring Roma striker Stefano Okaka to Craven Cottage on loan until the end of the season.

The Italy Under-21 international came through the club's youth system and made his first-team debut in 2005. He scored Roma's winning goal in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Siena and spent last season on loan at Modena and Brescia.

The 20-year-old played in both Europa League games between Roma and the Cottagers earlier this season, scoring in the Serie A side's 2-1 win at the Olympic Stadium.

"We've monitored him for a long time, before we were drawn against Roma in Europe," Hodgson said last week."His name was well known to our scouting staff.

"The deal is on. It was never really off but there have been a lot of problems to iron out.

"I expect him to join us from Monday. He won't be in line to play against Aston Villa on Saturday as Roma want him available for their game on Sunday."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
