Old ‘Arry ready to wheel and deal for ex-Tottenham and Man United hitman

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is contemplating making a bid for Monaco hitman Dimitar Berbatov, according to the Daily Star.

Redknapp and Berbatov worked together when the Bulgarian was plying his trade at Tottenham Hotspur, and having bemoaned the lack of striking options in his struggling QPR side – the Loftus Road club are second-from-bottom in the Premier League with 19 points – Redknapp may be tempted to make a move for the 33 year-old veteran.

Berbatov – who also enjoyed great success at Manchester United following his time at Spurs – is reportedly keen on a return to London and may be available for as little as £1m. This represents an affordable option for the Rs, and Redknapp is now ready to make an offer.

Although Berbatov’s current club Monaco are struggling in fifth place in Ligue 1 this season, the Bulgarian is their top scorer with six goals. He joined the principality in January of last year.
