O’Neill happy with Villa’s season

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has called the Villa Park outfit a 'remarkable club' after slamming continuing talk of him moving on in the summer.

O'Neill guided his side to sixth place in the Premier League this season, with Villa also reaching the Carling Cup final and the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The Ulsterman told the Birmingham Mail:"I heard some fella on the radio saying that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are better clubs than Aston Villa.

"I accept the fact that Manchester City in the last couple of years have spent an awful lot of money and obviously become big players and as a consequence become a big club.

"It's something that we maybe hadn't foreseen and Tottenham have done remarkably well and always been a really fine club. They've won the double and won the championship.

"But Aston Villa is a remarkable club, honestly, and there's not much more I can add to that really."
