On-loan Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is tipped to complete a move to Everton despite the fact that Aston Villa wants to make his move permanent when his loan spell is completed, Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old has been a season regular under Paul Lambert as he is keen to leave Old Trafford after Louis van Gaal is said to be open to his departure.
Villa have also prepared a bid of £7million to complete the deal, but Cleverley is looking to join up with Everton instead, a team he was also linked with during the summer.
Roberto Martinez was closing in on the services of the United man, but he was unable to reach an agreement, prompting Lambert’s side to snap him up right on transfer deadline day.
The Toffees boss has been struggling to replicate last season’s form and with the club sitting in 13th place, he will be aiming to reinforce his squad both during the January window as well as in the summer.
