Reports suggest Sheffield Wednesday are set to unveil the former Preston North End manager Alan Irvine as their new boss.
Irvine was relieved of his duties at Deepdale less than ten days ago after spending just over two years in charge of the club.
The 51-year-old previously worked as David Moyes' number two at Everton and turned down the chance to take over as West Brom manager last summer.
He guided the Lilywhites to last season's Championship play-offs but was axed after presiding over a run of one just win in ten matches.
The Owls are currently in the relegation zone and parted company with Brian Laws last month.
