The tabloids stated yesterday that Arsene Wenger was keen to reward the talented attacker with a new and improved deal, despite the player having four years left on his current contract.
The north London outfit are eager to avoid their players getting down to the last year of their contracts, after watching the likes of Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie walk away from the club.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is eager to extend his deal at the Emirates and has stated his commitment to Arsenal.
“I haven’t given that too much thought at the moment,” he confessed at a press conference, published in Sky Sports.
“I’m here to play for England this week so that’s the only thing I’m really concentrating on.
“Obviously if Arsenal and myself wanted to sit down and talk about anything like that then that’s really good because I’m loving my time at Arsenal.
“I’m really enjoying playing for them so I’m planning on being there for a while so that’s good.
“The only thing I’ll be focusing on when I get back is working hard and getting in the team again,” he concluded.
