Tottenham have made a bid for Palermo striker Abel Hernandez, according to Goal.com.
Spurs reportedly bid £8.9 million for the Uruguayan but the bid was rejected with the Sicilian club wanting double the amount.
Hernandez moved to Palermo from Uruguayan side Penarol two and a half years ago and has scored 10 goals in 49 league appearances for the club. The 20-year old has since broken in to the Uruguayan national team scoring twice in 3 appearances and Arsenal and Roma have been linked with the player before. Palermo, however, are believed to want to hold on to the player for another season.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is looking to overhaul his attacking options with the likes of Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko and linked with moves away from the club.
Spurs have already been linked with a move for Internacional striker Damiao and, more recently, prolific Porto striker Falcao. The 25-year old scored 38 times in 42 appearances for the Portuguese side last season but has a release clause inserted into his contract for an estimated £26 million. Local rivals Arsenal have also been linked with the Colombian forward.
