Reports suggest Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is stepping up his interest in Manchester City’s Martin Petrov.
The former Burnley boss hopes to land the Bulgaria international on a free transfer.
Petrov’s contract at Eastlands expires on July 1 and, although he has been offered a new one-year deal, the 31-year-old has not ruled out the possibility of moving elsewhere.
Celtic, Everton and West Ham United have also been linked with Petrov who has represented his country on 78 occasions.
Petrov was signed by Sven-Goran Eriksson three years ago for £4.7million and has gone on to score 12 times in 72 appearances for City.
Meanwhile, Republic of Ireland international Andy O’Brien is being linked with a summer switch to Leeds United.
