Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised his side after they fought from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park yesterday.
A Jan Vertonghen own goal had Spurs trailing at the interval but strikes from Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Nacer Chadli gave the top-four hopefuls another three points on their tally.
With Manchester United getting beat by Southampton on home soil, the North London side now have a five-point cushion in their hunt to qualify for the Champions League.
Pochettino admitted that it had been a good week for Spurs after they had also won away to Leicester in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.
“I’m very pleased, I think the effort was fantastic,” the Argentine told the club’s official website.
“We went 1-0 down in the first half, we sorted some problems and in the second half we fully deserved the result after 95 minutes and a lot of fantastic goals.
“It’s been a great week and it was an important win today in a difficult stadium.”
Pochettino was also quick to praise Alli after his wonder goal put the visitors into the lead, while he said that Vertonghen needed a scan on an injury after limping off at Selhurst Park.
Tottenham travel to face Colchester United in the cup next weekend, with their next league clash a trip to play Norwich at Carrow Road.
