Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has stated that Harry Kane is not sale, despite rumours linking the striker to Real Madrid.
The England international has been a revelation over the last 12 months, netting 31 goals in his breakthrough campaign last term.
Kane started the new season slowly but has been amongst the goals of late as Spurs look to confirm a spot in the top four by May.
The home-grown hero is a fans favourite and one of the best players of a young English generation, with Kane a key man for Tottenham’s long-term project.
Madrid are undergoing transition after sacking Rafa Benitez, with Zinedine Zidane expected to bring in a host of new faces this summer.
Despite the Spanish giants’ reported interest in the striker and the fact that Gareth Bale and Luka Modric both left White Hart Lane for the giants, Pochettino has stated that Kane will not be moving away from Tottenham.
“We do not want to sell him and Harry wants to stay with us,” BBC Sport quote the Argentine as saying.
“I didn’t see the rumour but it doesn’t surprise me.
“Harry is one of the best strikers in Europe or in the world. It would not surprise me if some big clubs are interested in him but it’s only a rumour.
“He is not for sale and the good thing is he wants to stay.”
