Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is interested in Dutch striker Vincent Janssen and was in attendance to watch the young star as Netherlands clashed with Republic of Ireland on Friday night, according to The Mirror.
The White Hart Lane side had an excellent season under the Argentine’s tutelage in 2015-16, finishing third in the Premier League and playing some exciting football along the way.
A weakness in the Spurs squad however is their dependance on Harry Kane as the club’s only recognised number nine, with this to be rectified in this summer’s transfer market.
Janssen has burst onto the scene in his homeland, scoring an incredible 27 goals for AZ Alkmaar to finish as the Eredivisie’s top scorer in his first season in the Dutch top flight.
The 21-year-old has already made an impression at international level, scoring against England in an international friendly earlier this year.
Janssen is widely expected to leave Alkmaar this summer and would be an exciting option to bolster Pochettino’s options in the final third.
