Paul Pogba has paid tribute to the Manchester United supporters after being named the club’s Player of the Month for August.
Pogba contributed two goals and one assist in three Premier League matches for the Red Devils last month, with his performances proving key in the team’s 100% start to the new campaign.
The France international also won the award in May after an impressive finish to the 2016-17 season, and he has been quick to hail the Man United supporters for choosing him once again.
Pogba told MUTV:
“I’m just very happy and would like to say thanks to the fans who voted for me last month.
“It has been great for me and great for the team. Hopefully we are going to carry on like that. The season is very long and I need to hopefully keep on this level to help the team.”
Pogba scored nine times in 51 appearances for Man United last season following an £89m move from Juventus. The 24-year-old helped the Red Devils land three trophies last term, but his overall contribution was questioned.
The midfielder has been in impressive form at the start of the new campaign, however, and will again be looking to inspire his team in Saturday’s trip to Stoke City in the Premier League.
