Portsmouth have rubbished reports linking goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with a transfer window move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 22-year-old Bosnian has deputised ably for injured number one David James in recent weeks and has been mentioned as a January target for former Pompey boss Harry Redknapp.
But despite rumours that the cash-strapped south coast club are willing to listen to offers for any of their players, chief executive Peter Storrie has dismissed stories that Begovic is definitely on his way to White Hart Lane.
"It's absolute rubbish that Asmir will be leaving us. We haven't even heard anything from Spurs," he told The News.
"This lad is the future of this football club and he can go on and on. We've all been impressed with him. He's done fantastic since he's come into the side and I hope it continues.
"I think you have got to give full credit to (goalkeeping coach) Dave Coles, who has nurtured him for a long time. And we are definitely not looking to sell Asmir."
