Stoke City have opened talks with Abdoulaye Faye aimed at keeping the defender at the Britannia Stadium.
The Senegal international still has 13 months remaining on his existing deal but has impressed Potters boss Tony Pulis with his form in recent weeks.
"There has been talk about Abby's contract," confirmed Pulis.
"There is enough time to talk about putting an extension in place for him.
"Over the last month he has been absolutely outstanding and he's been a brilliant signing.
"He had a great first season and had been up and down a bit this year, but he's been superb over the last four weeks."
Faye joined Stoke from Newcastle United in summer 2008 for a fee of £2.25million.
